San Diego’s EPA NESHAP Regulations 40 CFR 61 “requires an asbestos inspection prior to renovation or demolition regardless of construction
date.” The state enacted this law to protect property owners and workers from possible exposure to the hazardous substance.
Federal law also requires testing of lead paint any more than 6 sq. ft. of painted drywall is removed. If lead paint is detected, Abbotts is RRP certified to remove it.
Abbotts Fire and Flood Restoration is a certified consulting firm, ready to perform asbestos and lead paint testing in San Diego. If our tests reveal the presence of asbestos on your property, we will refer you out to a certified abatement contractor.
If you’re having drywall removed, holes in your drywall, or other asbestos-containing materials (such as VCT tile, mastics from linoleum) please call us to have testing done now.
